Maggie BunceMy Story

Since childhood, I have loved and respected animals. I earned my Bachelors in Education from the University of Michigan and taught and coached middle school students for 11 years. I always tried to instill in my students a respect and love for nature, environments, and animals. My last year teaching was as a science resource teacher with the care of over 30 animals under my control. The “male” rabbit in my classroom kept asking for extra carrots and lettuce until the morning I walked in and there were baby rabbits in the room! The “he” was a “she” who was pregnant! I listened to the rabbit’s needs and that experience was pivotal in my path to animal communication.

Another story that reflects how I realized I communicated with animals has to do with my yellow lab, Echo. In 1998, I decided to meditate at 4:00 am daily. Unbeknownst to me, I asked Echo to get me up daily at that time. Without fail, Echo woke me up at 4:00 am. After 6 months, I decided to meditate at a different time of day, but Echo still woke me up at 4:00 am. I decided to thank Echo for doing such a wonderful job waking me up and to ask her to sleep in now. The VERY next morning, we slept in until 7:30 am!! It was truly amazing and eye opening for me.

Maggie with a horseIn 2001, I chose to go into a career as a massage therapist, Reflexologist and Reiki energy healer. Over time, I earned my certification in all three areas of body work and had a thriving business.

In 2003, I received my canine massage certification from Integrated Touch Therapy. I began massaging dogs as well as people. I also earned my animal communication certificate from Bruce Butcher, international animal communicator. Slowly, I realized the animals were my true passion.

In October of 2004, I was stung by a swarm of bees while hiking in the woods. Amazingly, I survived over 40 stings and lived through this transformational experience. This initiation into the animal kingdom did indeed propel me to have the courage to step away from my human massage business and focus completely on the animals.

My extensive experience as a hospice volunteer has helped me to gain valuable insight into the transition/death and grief process. That, combined with my abilities to ascertain physical, health, and pain level in animals, comforts people tremendously if they have a sick or older animal friend.

I also facilitate an animal healing circle which meets monthly. This group of sincere people focuses on animals who are in need of physical or emotional healing.

Today, I am a full time Animal Communicator Specialist.  I also teach classes in Animal Communication, Canine Masage, and Reiki Energy Healing.
